New contract to Fosen Yard

We are delighted to announce that the Norwegian shipowner Siem Group has awarded Fosen Yard AS in Rissa the assignment to complete a larger and modern passenger ferry. Building of the vessel was commenced at a German shipyard the went bankrupt in 2020.

She is now under tow from Germany to Norway and is expected to arrive at Fosen the coming week.

FOSEN YARD AND A COMPANY IN THE SIEM GROUP HAVE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE OUTFITTING AND COMPLETION OF AN LNG POWERED ROPAX FERRY, KNOWN AS FSG HULL NO 774. THE VESSEL IS UNDER TOW FROM NORTH GERMANY AND IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE AT FOSEN THIS COMING WEEKEND. 

ANDERS STRAUMSHEIM, CEO OF FOSEN YARD, EMPHASISED THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS PROJECT FOR THE YARD INDUSTRY IN THIS AREA OF NORWAY AND STATED THAT THIS WORK IS WELL SUITED TO FOSEN YARD‘S CAPABILITIES.

KENNETH ROSS, SIEM GROUP HEAD OF SHIPPING, STATED THAT THE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FOSEN ORGANISATION IS CONSTRUCTIVE AND OFF TO A GOOD START. THE SIEM GROUP IS PLEASED TO PLACE THE ORDER IN NORWAY.
