About Fosen Yard Stralsund

Fosen Yard AS entered an agreement with the City of Stralsund to lease parts of Volkswerft from 1 July 2022. The previous owner, Genting, spent large sums on updating the yard when they bought it in 2016 and the facilities now appear in very good condition. Hall 290 is large enough to accommodate building of vessels up to 290 m long entirely inside, providing optimal conditions for welding and painting, assuring the hulls will require a minimum of maintenance after entering service.

The yard also offers one of the world’s largest ship lifts, measuring 270 x 35 m and with a lifting capacity of 25,000 tons. This is ideal for conversions and lengthening of vessels, in combination with the large building hall.
